SHADOW POSSESSION

  • casting time1 action
  • range60 feet

  • componentsHS, CM
  • durationC, up to 1 minute.

The famous Shadow possession of the Nara Clan allows the user to mold Chakra into their shadow, controlling it. Select one creature you can see within range. Target creature has to make a Dexterity Saving throw. On a failed save they are restrained for the duration of the jutsu and they cannot take actions. They make the exact same physical movements you make. You cannot make them attack themselves, nor can you make them cast jutsu of any type. They mirror your movements and gestures and nothing else. At the end of an affected creatures turn, they can make a Strength saving throw to end this Jutsu’s effect on them.
The Shadow possession jutsu is unique in that it is most affected by the time of day and the amount of available light a Nara is in.
In Dim Light, this Jutsu’s range is reduced by half.
In complete darkness, this jutsu cannot be used.

At Higher Ranks: For each rank you cast this jutsu above D-Rank, increase the cost of this jutsu by 3, the range of this jutsu by 15ft and creatures no longer make the exact same physical movements you make unless you want them to.

SHADOW SHURIKEN TECHNIQUE [1/2]

  • casting time1 action
  • rangeSelf
    (30-foot Cone)

  • componentsHS, CM, W(Thrown)
  • durationInstant

You throw a single weapon, when you do, you quickly multiply it, creating dozens copies of it while in transit. Creatures within this jutsu’s range must make a Dexterity saving throw taking the thrown [Weapons damage] + 3d6 on a failed save, or half as much on a success.

At Higher Ranks: For each rank you cast this jutsu above C-Rank, increase the cost of this jutsu by 3 and the damage by 1d6. If you cast this jutsu at C-Rank or higher, you can choose to attach a paper bomb to the weapon before cloning it. If you do, change the damage type to Fire and all affected creatures make their saving throw with a -1 penalty. If using a paper bomb of Greater quality or higher, the damage die increases by 1 step, and constructs and structures treats this damage as if they were vulnerable to it. If this jutsu is cast at A-Rank or higher while using a paper bomb, the save penalty becomes -2 and creatures who fail are also Dazed. If this jutsu is cast at S-Rank while using a paper bomb, the save penalty becomes -3 and if using a paper bomb of superior quality or higher, the damage die increases by 2 steps, and constructs and structures makes their saves at disadvantage,

SUBSTITUTION TECHNIQUE [1/2]

  • casting time1 reaction, which you take when you would take damage.
  • rangeSelf

  • componentsM
  • durationInstant

You are able to more quickly utilize the substitution technique allowing you a swifter escape with smaller margins for error. When you would take damage from an attack you may increase your AC by +2 against the triggering attack and all subsequent attacks until the beginning of your next turn. If this bonus would cause the attack to miss, you may move up to half of your movement away. If you activate this jutsu as a result of making a saving throw, you must still make the saving throw even if your movement would move you to the outside of an attacks range.

At Higher Ranks: For each rank you cast this jutsu above D-Rank, increase the cost by 3. If this jutsu is cast at C-Rank or higher, increase the AC bonus to +3. If this jutsu is cast at B-Rank or higher, you may choose to attach a highly explosive paper tag to the object you are swapping places with. If you do, regardless if a creature hits you or not, you may move up to your full movement way, as the tag explodes, forcing all creatures within 20 feet of the space where you cast this jutsu to make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 8d6 Fire damage on a failed save or half as much on a success. If this jutsu is cast at A-Rank or

CLONE TECHNIQUE

  • casting time1 action or 1 reaction, which you take when you take damage
  • rangeSelf

  • componentsHS
  • durationSpecial

You create 2 illusory duplicates of yourself. The clones stay near you and disappear when attacked. The clones appear by your side and appear almost like layered duplicates occupying the same space. The duplicates look like the you, but cannot speak or perform any action that requires interacting with something physically.
If cast as an Action, you summon a flurry of duplicates that last until the beginning of your next turn. The next two times you take damage from an attack targeting you of your choice, the attacker suffers a d4 penalty to their attacks, which could cause the triggering attack to miss. After which this jutsu ends. If cast as a Reaction, you summon just enough duplicates to potentially avoid damage. The triggering attack suffers a 1d6 penalty to its attack. Any creature using a Jutsu with the Sensory Keyword or has chakra sight are not immune by this jutsu.
At Higher Levels:
This Jutsu’s proficiency increases as you increase in level. The Action Version of this jutsu increases in proficiency. When you reach 5th level this jutsu can trigger three (3) times, 11th level (4 times), 17th level (5 times).

TRANSFORM

  • casting time1 action
  • rangeSelf

  • componentsHS
  • durationC, up to 10 minute.

This technique is taught to every student of the academy. Using this technique, the user assumes the form of a creature, object or animal of the same size category as they are or smaller. They may freely designate the specifics of their new form (such as height, weight, hair texture and color, skin tone, etc.). This transformation is purely cosmetic and an illusion. When you use a Charisma based skill action in an attempt to deceive, lie or misguide another creature, you use this new form, so long as it is relevant to your act, to enhance that lie with convincing movements and gestures.
