One creature that you can see within range must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or be banished.
If the target is native to the plane of existence you’re on, you banish the target to a harmless demiplane. While there, the target is incapacitated and remains there until the spell ends, at which point the target reappears in the space it left (or in the nearest unoccupied space if that space is occupied).
If the target is native to a different plane of existence, the target returns to its home plane. If the spell ends prematurely, the target reappears as above. Otherwise, the target doesn’t return.
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 4th.
This spell grants the creature you touch the ability to understand any spoken language it hears. Moreover, when the target speaks, any creature that knows at least one language and can hear the target understands what it says.
You choose nonmagical flame that you can see within range and that fits within a 5-foot cube. You affect it in one of the following ways:
❧ You expand the flame 5 feet in one direction, provided that fuel is present in the new location.
❧ You extinguish the flames.
❧ You double or halve the area of bright light and dim light cast by the flame, change its color, or both. The change lasts for 1 hour.
❧ You cause simple shapes—such as the vague form of a creature, an inanimate object, or a location—to appear within the flames and animate as you like. The shapes last for 1 hour.
If you cast this spell multiple times, you can have up to three of its non-instantaneous effects active at a time, and you can dismiss such an effect as an action.
