Sepulcher of Gnawing Shadows [1/2]

  • casting time 10 Min (Ritual Only)
  • range Touch

  • components V, S, M
  • duration Instantaneous

A drop of blood, a pouch of grave soil, a Spellbook containing this spell

You bind corpses within an extradimensional sepulcher contained within your spellbook.
When you cast this spell, choose one of the following options:

Store: You touch any number of corpses within reach and draw them into the Sepulcher, provided sufficient capacity remains. If there is insufficient capacity to store all selected corpses, the spell fails and no corpses are stored.

Retrieve: You withdraw any number of corpses currently stored in the Sepulcher and place them in unoccupied spaces within 5 feet of you. If there is insufficient unoccupied space to place a corpse, that corpse is instead destroyed, turning to dust as if affected by the disintegrate spell.

The Sepulcher can contain a number of 5-foot spaces of corpses equal to your wizard level. Each corpse occupies a number of spaces equal to the number of 5-foot squares it occupied in life (minimum one 5-foot space).
A corpse may be stored

Wizard 2nd Level Necromancy

Sepulcher of Gnawing Shadows [2/2]

  • casting time 10 Min (Ritual Only)
  • range Touch

  • components V, S, M
  • duration Instantaneous

A drop of blood, a pouch of grave soil, a Spellbook containing this spell

with any clothing, armour, and nonmagical weapons it bears. All other items carried by the corpse fall harmlessly to the ground at the conclusion of the ritual. Magical items cannot be stored by this spell.
The extradimensional space feeds upon unprotected flesh. After 7 days in storage, an unpreserved corpse is reduced to bare bones.
When you store a corpse, you may expend capacity equal to one additional 5-foot space to preserve it. A preserved corpse does not decay while stored. This preservation does not extend or alter any time limits imposed by resurrection spells.
Curse: While a corpse stored within the Sepulcher belonged to a creature who shared a significant emotional bond with a creature you are interacting with, you make any Charisma-based ability checks and Charisma saving throws involving that creature at disadvantage, and they have advantage on any Charisma checks or saving throws you force them to make.
