A beam of flames streaks toward a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d10 fire damage.
The spell creates more than one beam when you reach higher levels: two beams at 5th level, three beams at 11th level, and four beams at 17th level. You can direct the beams at the same target or at different ones. Make a separate attack roll for each beam.
A protective magical force surrounds you, manifesting as a jumping flames that covers you and your gear. You gain 5 temporary hit points for the duration. If a creature hits you with a melee attack while you have these hit points, the creature takes 5 fire damage.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, both the temporary hit points and the fire damage increase by 5 for each slot level above 1st.
